Join Tisha Smith for this family oriented virtual workshop is designed to celebrate the life work of artist Romare Bearden. Participants will learn how Bearden used African-American cultural history and literature as the source of his subject matter. They will also learn how he placed aspects of African-American life within the context of universal themes. All ages and skill levels welcome.

Creating Applique: Its In My Heart Workshop K. Joy Peters

Learn to paint with fabric in this one-day workshop lead by K. Joy Peters. Students will explore applique techniques using colorful patterned and textured fabrics, yarn, and a variety of machine stiches to make a small applique work of art. Participants are required to bring their own sewing machines, fabric, pinking shears/scissors, and straight pins. Lunch will not be provided.
